Help Us Recover From a House Fire This Holiday Season
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
On November 17th, a house fire destroyed my beloved childhood home, and my family has been left to start over from scratch. This home is where my 63-year-old father who is partially paralyzed lived with my 29-year-old sister and my 3-year-old niece. It’s also where my 22-year-old brother, who’s a student at UConn, would come back to during school breaks. Everything we owned—clothing, personal items, school supplies, and even my father’s crucial medications—was lost in the fire. Due to this unforeseen circumstance, we've also had to cancel his much-needed surgery this week as well.
As the holidays approach, it’s hard to face the reality of not having our family home. Instead of celebrating together like we always have, we’re trying to rebuild our lives and find stability during this difficult time.
Why We Need Your Help
We’re asking for $20k to help us get back on our feet. Here’s what we’re hoping to cover:
- Provide essential clothing and personal items for everyone in the household.
- Purchase school supplies for my 22-year-old brother and 3-year-old niece to ensure they can continue their education without interruption.
- Cover medical expenses and replace necessary supplies for my father’s care.
- Assistance in making my living space handicap-accessible so my dad can move around safely.
- Begin the process of seeking assisted living for my father, ensuring he has the care and stability he needs.
Anything you can give would mean the world to us. If you can’t donate, just sharing this with others would be a huge help.
We’re beyond grateful for any support during this tough time.
Thank you,
Billie
