Our mom, Linda Leonard, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Esophageal Cancer on February 21, 2023. We soon found out it was also in her liver. Mom has been healthy, vibrant and independent her whole life so to say that we all were shocked by this diagnosis is an understatement. She has a long road ahead of her and is trying to remain optimistic, as we all are. Our main concern now is keeping her comfortable, spending time with her, and managing her pain and calorie intake, while also organizing her treatment plan. She is very fatigued so we want her to not have to worry about anything that way she can focus all her energy on healing. She has good days and not-so-good days as she adapts to this new normal. Hopefully, her radiation treatment will start soon and that will shrink the tumor that sits right above her stomach. This tumor is restricting the esophagus and is not allowing mom to eat solid foods or thick liquids. Nutrition has been very difficult.

Our mom has worked her whole life to do all that she could for her girls. She raised us all to be strong, independent women. However, we also know that we have a huge network of family and friends. And that's where you come in. Mom's treatments are expensive and her nutrition is expensive.

Any amount can help us keep her on her journey. Warm wishes, thoughts, prayers and stories are also welcome.
