Send Texas Junior Champion Irene Benavides-Perez to Ellen Noble's CX Camp
Up and comer Irene Benavides-Perez is the next big thing in Texas cyclocross- let’s help her to get to Ellen Noble’s Youth Women’s Cyclocross Camp!
Irene is a 13 year old junior from College Station, Texas. Already, Irene has raced CX for 2 seasons as a Category 3 racer. She took 3rd place in the UCI Waco race last year and finished 12th at the 2016 CX National Championship in that category.
In an effort to be a better trained and well-rounded racer, Irene has been branching out of her main discipline. Irene races as Cat 4 Road racer and has been to Road Nationals three times where she has been a top 5 finisher. She has also started riding mountain this season and has already participated in six races, winning one and landing on the podium in the other five. She is currently Texas State Champion in CX, Road, Individual Time Trial, Team Time Trial, and Track.
With our help as her community, Irene can continue to develop in the way that will take her to the next level.
Irene has a heart the size of Texas and she needs that big Texas family support to get her to Ellen Noble’s Youth Women’s Cyclocross Camp. This camp will offer her a chance to be coached under World Championship Silver medalist and three time Cyclocross National Champion (U23 Women, 17-18 Women) Ellen Noble. This camp will give her the skills and insight into the sport that a future champion of her caliber will need to be successful in the sport in the short and long term.
