A few months ago, Schultz Senior Dachshund Sanctuary was able to assist 5 Texas Dachshunds in severe need of help to the safety of adoptive HOMES in New Jersey!
Each of these dogs is now happy, healthy and thriving.
We did a good job.
So good, we have been asked to do it again....
The State of Texas is currently seeing an overflow of Dachshunds in the severe need. Shelters are overflowing; rescue groups there have no room. The conditions in which dogs are often found is horrid. Kennels are filled with filth, metal dishes coated with green slime that was once water; any bedding provided is wet and rotting in the humidity. In 100+ degree heat, these dogs wait day after day for a chance at a better life.
But that will never happen, without OUR help.
Rescue groups in Texas work very hard to help all the dogs they can. But most adopters there want young dogs; puppies are popular with adopters. No one wants an older dog; no one is willing to give an older dog a chance, and see the joy it can bring to their lives.
Well, here in New Jersey, we don't feel that way.
We have adopters!
We just do not have the financial resources to get these dogs here.
Today, we are asking you to be a part of a miracle.
HELP us to take these dogs from the saddest of circumstances! HELP us to get them the veterinary care they need. HELP us to help them to heal and get healthy; healthy enough to travel from Texas to New Jersey, where potential screened and approved adopters are waiting to meet them!
We cannot do this alone; the fees to transport these dogs could cost as much as $500-$1000 just to get here! That is just for their ride to safety!
Their veterinary needs are many. No one has provided anything more for them than a handful of dry dog food thrown in their direction once a day (if they were lucky).....
