Hi my name is Ashley and my daughter Faith and I need your help. We live in Austin Texas and love everything out doors, greatly enjoying quality family time together. Anyone who knows faith in the recent months can see her shining bright light full of joy and strength. We have overcome so many obstacles. Finding community and support has been a game changer in this nightmare.
Our lives changed dramatically as I transitioned out of my marriage. This year I have spent roughly $20,000 to process a divorce and custody arrangement. The case is tricky as it involves physical and emotional abuse. I had to witness my daughter return to me completely traumatized, yet she was too young to speak about what was happening. Finally, after seeing a pattern and this little girl change from the confident happy kid I knew to an angry, sad and insecure person causing physical harm to herself, I reached out to authorities. To my shock we were brushed aside, even told that there are worse cases than ours. The only "help" was our names were put on a waiting list for therapy 3-6 months out. After lots of therapy it became apparent that Faith had been subjected to a hostile environment. A mother's worst nightmare was true and I was left to mend this myself. It has been 9 months now with no contact from her abuser. I need your help keeping it this way.
I have a final hearing only a few weeks away. I have managed to penny pinch all this way but I am drained. Being a single mother in this world is not easy, much less trying to pay an attorney to keep us safe each month. We are SO close to being done! At least with the legal aspect of it.
