Spud was my companion whilst i was living on the street he is not just a dog to me he is my best friend my brother and my confidente .
Recently he had to have an opperation to fix what at first we thought was a torn cruciate ligament but when the Vet Noel Fitzpatrick looked into it (donated his time and service free of charge because i had no means to pay for his services) he found out it wasnt just the torn cruciate ligament that Spud had wrong with him but it was also Bone Cancer which had taken root in his leg and the only option was to have it amputated. While this got rid of the cancerous tumour in his leg he still needs to under go further treatment of 5 chemotheraphy sessions once every three weeks to keep the cancer at bay as sadly the amputation is no cure for cancer, he will also need at least 2 C.T. scans to check to see if the cancerous cells have been eradicated.
He is now back home with me and friends. His quality of life is much better but, i have to bare in mind he still has cancer saying that though I am back to watching him bouncing/hopping around the garden and running about the field wanting to play with other dogs.
This is the point when i need to humbly ask for your help.
Living in the Emmaus movement that I am i simply can not afford to pay for the chemotheraphy on the allowance i receive because the treatment costs £350 per session and the C.T. scan costs approx £ 450 each.
Spud will appreciate any pennies that you can contribute towards his treatment.
Many thanks
Spud & Chris
