Two Guys and a Kidney
In 2014, Scott was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease (PKD), a hereditary disease that gradually reduces kidney function, eventually resulting in kidney failure and the need for dialysis or transplant. Around the same time, Scott became a team member at the Phoenix (www.thephoenix.org), a sober, active community for people in recovery from substance use disorder. It was at the Phoenix that Scott met Jeff. With their common interest in running, rock climbing, and CrossFit, they became fast friends. When Jeff learned of Scott's need for a kidney, he did not hesitate to find out if he was a match. As luck would have it, he was! Scott is now scheduled for a kidney transplant at the end of September and he and Jeff are busy preparing. Your generous donation will go toward paying for any unexpected expenses that may arise from the transplant and recovery for both the Scott and Jeff. Any unused funds will be donated to the Phoenix as a way of saying "thanks" for bringing them together.
