Two Wheels to Healing: Help Him Walk Again

Last Sunday, January 18th, started like any other day for my dear friend, Nash Sequeira.

A ride with friends. Fresh air. Open road.
Something simple. Something joyful. Something he loves.

By the end of it, he was in an ambulance.

What started out as a leisurely sunrise group ride ended in devastation. On the way home, taking a slow turn, the bike suddenly slipped out from under him. Crushing his legs before throwing him into the barrier.

In seconds, everything changed.

He broke both femurs, his right tibia, and fractured his hip where the femur meets the joint.

The only reason we aren’t telling a far worse story is because he was wearing full racing leathers and a helmet. That gear saved his life.

But even with that miracle, the damage is devastating.

So far, he has endured two major surgeries.
There will be months of physical therapy.
Months of pain.
Months of learning how to do the most basic things again.

Right now, he isn’t thinking about riding.

He’s thinking about how to stand.
How to take a step.
How to walk again.

And while his body is trying to heal, another fear sits just as heavy.

He works freelance in event operations. No insurance. No safety net. No paid time off.

If he can’t work, he doesn’t get paid.

So while he’s lying in a hospital bed recovering from multiple broken bones, the medical bills are growing by the day.

His parents, both 65, want to help more than anything — but they simply can’t carry costs like this. They are by his side 24/7 advocating for him every step of the way.

And the hardest part is… if you know him, you know he would never ask for help himself.

He’s the one who helps everyone else.

He’s kind without trying. Funny in that quiet, effortless way. The friend who shows up. The one who checks in. The one who would give you his last dollar or his last hour if you needed it.

Riding has always been his freedom. His therapy. His peace.

It’s where he felt most alive.

And now — instead of chasing sunsets on two wheels — he’s fighting through surgeries and rehab just to walk across a room.

It’s heartbreaking. It’s unfair. And it’s more than anyone should have to face alone.

So I’m asking for help on his behalf.

This fundraiser is simply people coming together to carry someone through the hardest chapter of his life. Every donation will go directly toward his medical bills, rehabilitation, and basic living expenses while he focuses on healing.

If you’re able to give, thank you from the bottom of my heart. No amount is too small. Truly.

If you can’t, sharing this means just as much.

Because sometimes recovery isn’t just about medicine or surgery.

Sometimes it’s about knowing people care.
Knowing you’re not alone.
Knowing that when life knocks you down this hard, there are hands reaching out to help you back up.

Thank you for being one of those hands.
