Two Ukrainian children going to summer camp

Hi! I'm Irene from the Netherlands, and I'm organising a summer camp for children 10-16 years old in France. We recently got a request from two Ukrainian families for help with travel and finances for two children, as it is not possible for them to bring their children to the summer camp this year.

 

We are therefore hoping to raise some money to cover the travel costs and camp fee for Milosh Kucherenko (12) and Michael Stepanov (13). Milosh is now based in Warsaw, Poland and will be travelling from there, while Michael is based in Odessa, Ukraine and can be brought to Moldavia to catch an airplane there.

 

With your help, we hope we can bring these two kids to the summer camp to connect with other children and have fun, a welcome break from the ongoing crisis.


The summer camp:

 

Sun Camp is an outdoor, sleep-away summer camp that allows children to experience nature, themselves, and a community where people take care of one another.

Experiencing the weather, cooking and eating together, practising being awake and aware, and taking part in other traditional camp activities form the basis for a simple, profound experience. Sun Camp is inspired and based on the Shambhala Buddhist teachings, but is open to people of all backgrounds and interests.

Cost breakdown (for both kids):

 

Travel cost return flight to Paris ca. €800

Assisted flight cost for minors ca. €300

Travel from Paris to camp location (near Limoges) ca. € 400

Reduced program fee €600

Adult travel to pick up from and bring to Paris ca. € 400
Adult stay nearby camp ca. € 400

If any money is left over, we will use it to help finance other families having trouble getting money to send their children to Sun Camp.
