A litter of four tiny orange-and-white boy kittens were found to be abandoned. Since the plan was to send them to foster homes after they started on solid food, they were temporarily named One, Two, Three, and Four. Foster families were found for all of the brothers, with hopes that they would become forever homes. There were plans to rename them Monterrey Jack, Colby, Cheddar and Queso after "Quattro Formaggio".
At just a few weeks old, Two began crying in pain. A physical exam revealed a serious body wall defect: part of his intestines had escaped his abdomen and become obstructed. Immediately, he was rushed in the middle of the night to a referral animal hospital. Two was given as the patient's name, and the name stuck.
Thanks to an amazing ER and ICU team, Two survived two emergency surgeries to repair his body wall. He then spent 18 days in ICU, where every nurse, tech, veterinarian and support staff fell in love with his playful spirit.
We are raising money to cover the cost of medical services to Two. The current outstanding bill is approximately $5,700 for the emergency surgeries and stay in the ICU.
Update: $2020 was donated offline, so we've reduced the goal accordingly.
