Two Sisters Battle Life Altering Diagnosis
Donation protected
I don’t know where to start. These last couple of years have been so incredibly difficult. My family is everything, especially my sister Nora.
There are four of us total, my eldest brother Roy, my sister Nora, my other brother Robert and myself. Nora is my only sister. Her and I are 10 years apart. She has always been there to guide me, yell at me when I need it, give me fashion advice and make me laugh. We are total opposites but truly are the best of friends.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and battled it for a year and a half. During this time, my sister was my rock. The chemo, surgeries and radiation were every bit of daunting, sickening, tiresome amongst other adjectives. I am thankful for the support network I had then and now. I am also so very grateful for the military because at that time, I was on active duty status receiving full medical benefits which meant my treatment was covered while still earning my paycheck.
My sister Nora on the other hand has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma, which is a brain tumor. I would spew numbers and statistics about it but that is not why I am here to tell our story, but mostly hers.
Nora has a beautiful family and a great job with great insurance. The big kicker is that she has exhausted all of her leave which means that in the short term she will no longer have an income. Going from a two-income household, to one with two children - one being a junior and another just starting college, this will be a battle to conquer.
My wish is for Nora to ultimately focus on her mental and physical well being while fighting for her life killing this brain tumor. As this journey begins, her and her family will be taxed with all the driving to and from treatments and Nora shouldn’t have to worry about her finances. She needs to be as focused as possible on getting through this. So I ask, IF you can AND you are able to please donate to this fund. All monies will go directly to my sister so they can continue to meet their financial needs.
If unable to donate, Nora and her family will welcome some of the following items to assist as well:
Gas Cards
Groceries/Home cooked meals with prior coordination
Please contact me for that coordination. Thank you all for reading through this, for all your love, support, prayers and donations. This means so much to me!
