Two Projects to Support the Transgender Community

I am a Seattle family doctor who has worked with the transgender and gender-nonconforming community since 1998. This month, I am starting a YouTube Channel called "Transgender Medicine Made Simple." At first, I wanted to produce educational posts just for healthcare professionals. But given the unfortunate negativity the trans community has experienced, I decided to open my YouTube channel to everyone who needs good, reliable, and supportive information. This includes healthcare professionals, aestheticians, and teachers, but most of all, I wanted my information to be available to trans and gender-nonconforming folks, their partners, kids, and parents. And recognizing that trans information and care are becoming scarce in many states, I wanted the information to be available so people could safely consume this information in private.

Two years ago, your GoFundMe dollars helped produce "A Practical Reference for Transgender & Gender-Nonconforming Adults." This book recently won a Gold Medal in the Independent Book Publishers Association in the LGBT category. I have published a portion of this book, "Transgender Surgeries: From Planning through Post-op for Transgender & Gender-Nonconforming Adults." I plan to record this surgery book as an audiobook during the summer of 2023.

I am delighted to volunteer my time and energy to these projects, but I have an editor and a sound engineer to pay! With your help, I intend to raise the money to pay these folks and get the YouTube channel launched and the Audible surgery book completed. Please join me in these critical summer projects.
