Two Park Benches Film Fund

Hi!

Welcome to our fundraiser for our short film Two Park Benches. It's a fifteen minute short written and produced by me, Connor Fike! The premise of the short is very simple, "Two guys form an unexpected connection on two park benches after a coincidentally shared suicide attempt".

...That's it, plain and simple.

It is a short dark comedy that explores the idea of how awkward an interaction would be if someone else picked the exact same location as you on the day you decided to kill yourself. Like do you still shoot yourself? Do you wait for them to be polite? Do you both go on the count of three? There is no social convention that defines how people should behave in that situation, so I believed it had a great deal of room for comedic potential!

If I had to pick films with similar vibes or tones I think I'd include titles like Swiss Army Man, In Bruges, The Nice Guys, or A Man Called Otto.

This will be shot and produced in rural Alberta, Canada, and made by a small team of local and passionate artists looking to show people what they are capable of.

The film will be dark, quirky, heartfelt, and above all, will be an accurate depiction of the complexity of suicide.
