Two Nikkis walking 185km for Aaron

Aaron is my nephew, and in 2017 at the age of 22 he suffered a catastrophic injury in a freak accident and has been quadriplegic eversince.  Over the intervening years I have carried out various fundraising events to help Aaron and his family. These are just regular parents, dealing with an almost unthinkable situation whilst juggling life, work, other family commitments etc..   While the NHS are amazing and provide all the basic and essential equipment and services, I try to look for opportunities to provide some extra enhancements to Aaron’s quality of life.  This year I’d really like to put some money towards a climate control system for Aaron’s room – blinds and air conditioning that he can operate.  The second thing I’d like to do is arrange a special day out for Aaron.  Due to the length of time spent in hospital initially (over 2 years) and many prolonged re-admissions since, Aaron is finding it harder to venture out from his home. He has a great care team who will accompany him, but his parents would love it if we could put together a special trip out that he would really enjoyand would serve to entice him out a bit more.

This October, the two Nikki’s (Ballard & Allen), are going to walk the Cami deCavalls  - the coastal path of Menorca to raise money for Aaron.  It’s 185km in total and we’re going to walk it over 10 days. We’ll be keeping a diary of the expedition on social media and very much hope that many people will enjoy the photographs and daily updates.  Maybe you'll be able to sponsor us – that would be great.
