Two legs are better than one!

Hello, my name is Chessa. I'm a 5-year-old lab shepherd cross. This fundraiser is to help my best friend and human, Lynda. She is awesome! She always takes me out for my morning walk, daily adventures with the bike, cross-county skiing and my favourite, swimming in the lake! She just started paddle boarding, and I think she will take me to do that someday too! I have four legs and can run really fast, but she only has one.

In 1978, Lynda lost her left leg due to osteosarcoma (cancer), and since then, she has had an above-knee prosthesis, allowing her to live a healthy, active life. Lynda has not only overcome the loss of her leg but has also become a Para-Olympic downhill skier, avid mountain biker, swimmer, golfer, pilates enthusiast, and she loves the outdoors, just like me. You will see us out almost any day of the year, no matter the weather! Nothing can stop Lynda from trying something new and embracing all new challenges that many with two or even four legs wouldn't attempt. She truly has a zest for life.

We have had so many adventures that Lynda has worn out her prosthesis and needs a replacement. Prosthetics have come a long way, but unfortunately, so has the cost. The healthcare system covers the cost of the most basic prosthetic, but those are far too uncomfortable for her to do my favourite outdoor activities and awkward to wear at work.

Being healthy and active keeps us both out of the doctor's office and on the trails! Lynda has been so good to me, and I always see her helping others when we're on our adventures; now she needs some help too. Any contribution you can make will go directly towards her new action leg. Please help us.
