Recently, my heart—and my home—grew in a way I didn’t expect. After losing my beloved German shepherd (Kip), I learned about two 7½‑year‑old German shepherd brothers who suddenly needed a place to go. Their owner had been moved into an assisted living facility, and these boys were facing being separated for the first time in their lives. I couldn’t let that happen. To keep them together, I adopted both.
They are sweet, loyal, gentle souls who have brought so much comfort to my home. But taking on two senior dogs at once comes with many responsibilities and unexpected expenses. As a single dog mom—with these two bringing my pack to four—I'm doing everything I can to make sure they have the safe, healthy life they deserve.
Both boys are due for:
Annual vet checkups
Vaccines
Nail trims
Much‑needed dental work (which is especially important for older dogs)
To keep them safely in the yard and prevent wandering, I also installed an underground fence system. On top of that… well, let’s just say German shepherd brothers eat—a LOT.
I am doing my best, but caring for four dogs—especially two senior shepherds—has stretched my budget more than I anticipated. I’m asking for help so I can keep these boys healthy, comfortable, and together for the rest of their lives.
These two have been through a big, sudden change. Their world was turned upside down when they lost their owner and the only home they had ever known. The least I can do is give them stability, love, and proper care as they spend their golden years by my side.
Any support—big or small—will go directly to their vet care, food, and ongoing needs.
Thank you so much for helping me give these boys the safe, happy life they deserve. ❤️
