Two families lost everything in fire

Donation protected
On 1/19, a very bad fire broke out on the second floor of the Baca Family Residence (my parents) located on the 4600 block of West Warwick Ave. The fire, which started by a faulty furnace, quickly spread throughout the walls and worked its way up to the 3rd floor.

A multitude of family members were able to get out of the house, but their animals went missing. Unfortunately, and pictured below, Gigi – their Terrier Mix, passed away. Their lovely cat Bella passed away as well. Even more heartbreaking, their other cat, Lola, is listed in critical condition at Premier Veterinary Hospital. If she makes it, she will more than likely be blind due to the severe heat and smoke.

Water damage from the firefighting damaged the entire first floor and basement with flooding which has now started to turn into mold throughout the building. This family has lost everything including all clothing, shoes, furniture, bedding, house appliances, food, all personal essentials – everything. But one thing that they haven’t lost is each other.
