Two (now 3!) Families Coming to Winnipeg

Hello all. As you may have heard, after months and months of work by countless people and organizations including Doctors Without Borders, the Manitoba Government, MIA, CPAM and CMWI, we have been blessed this past year with receiving two families from Gaza here in Winnipeg.

The community has come together to support these families. The folks at MIA are generously supporting the families by covering their rent and utilities. Our friends at CMWI collected many in-kind gifts and were able to purchase some of the furniture we needed to furnish both homes that we managed to get at cost from a local furniture store. And of course Ramsey at Food Fare is donating their groceries. The rest of the funds collected have been right here through this page.

UPDATE: Now that we have set up both of the first two families' homes AND since the Premier of Manitoba just announced on June 8th that we are working to bring a third family to Winnipeg, all funds from this point on will be directed to items needed to start assembling the third family's home.
