Aloha Kākou,

Those of you who know Janell, she has always been a happy-go-lucky person, always smiling and laughing. Janell is always willing to lend a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, and a hand to hold when someone needs it.

On June 25, 2025, Janell was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS), which is a form of breast cancer that was caught at an early stage. Since her diagnosis, she has been through numerous tests and procedures that her doctors have recommended. On September 25, 2025, a partial mastectomy surgery was performed, and she is now resting at home. To ensure the best outcome, Janell will also need radiation once the surgery heals. Janell will be getting radiation every day for 3-4 weeks.

Janell's journey will come with strains and stress due to unforeseen expenses from out-of-pocket expenses, co-payments, deposits for procedures, and many unknown medical expenses to come. Janell will be out of work until the doctors okay her to go back.

Family and friends, we, the ʻohana of Janell, humbly ask for your help in relieving some of the stress and strain that is weighing over Janell and her family at this time. Donations will go directly towards medical bills and other expenses accumulated while she is out of work recovering and receiving additional treatments.
