Sher's Open Heart Surgery Support

Donation protected
Sherry  Samartini-Pool is 46 years old and will be having open heart surgery in Feb 2016.  In 2001 Sherry had Hodgkins Lyphoma. The life saving radiation therapy caused damage to her heart valves. This damage was discovered in 2014. Since then she has had several heart caths and tests done to monitor the progression of the  damage. She thought there would be more time to prepare. However, the Dr says that it is now time to replace the  vavles.
The Mitral and Aortic Valves need to be replaced. They will be using man made mechanical valves to replace the damaged valves. The mechanical valve  last longer than the  tissue pig valve  they are doing this too  hopefully prevent a future repeat surgery . She will need to be on medication for the rest of her life to keep the blood from clotting in the new valves. They will be duing this thru the conventional open chest procedure. She will have a 3 month recovery time in which she will not be able to work and support her family.  She does not have disability at her job. She has no vacation or PTO to cover this time. Knowing that she will not be able to support her family and pay the household bills is very stressful for her.  She is extremely worried about the upcoming surgery and the time period after which and paying the bills.  All funds would collected would go towards the paying of the bills and any surgery related expenses. The Surgery will be preformed at The Ohio State University Hospital at the Ross Heart Center.  The hospital is over an hour away from home and her family will be staying at a hotel  to be near her during her hospital stay.  She has always been the one others have turned to and now she is  humbled to turn to others.
On 12/13/14 Sherry and Todd were married. For the past several months she has been caring for him. He had his left leg amputated on 8/1/15.  since then he has had several health issues. On 11/3/15 he went into the hospital and has not been home since then. He is back and forth between the hospital and a nursing home. He is having issues with his kidneys failing and ongoing infections.
Any help and donations would be greatly appreciated during her time of need.
