Mr Twix has aortic stenosis - a congential heart defect that causes narrowing of the heart arteries leading to insufficient blood flow, if untreated this condition can lead to sudden death due to exhaustion of the heart. This condition needs regular monitoring including imaging of the heart muscles through specialist care, various blood tests and medication. Twix is insured via PetPlan at the highest premium rate but unfortunately there are no insurers in the UK that will cover congenital heart conditions. Twix is my whole life and my responsibility he will receive specialist care no matter what happens but in this life sometimes help from others goes a long way too!
