Twisted Roots Chicago, LLC is struggling, and we need your help.
With the shutdowns, and evolving guidelines and information operating an in-person service based business at even a break-even level has proven to be extremely difficult, if not impossible.
While we did reopen for business at the beginning of July, with so many working from home and/or being uncomfortable with coming in for personal care services (which we fully understand), and City of Chicago mandated occupancy restrictions in place, our women's wellness spa in the Loop has been hit hard.
Revenues are down nearly 75% and at this rate the business isn't sustainable.
We did receive a small SBA Economic Disaster Relief Loan in May, however those fund are quickly being used on our biggest expenses, rent.
We have used up the business's savings, Beth's personal stimulus check, as well as funds raised through this GFM campaign earlier in this crisis, and the SBA EIDL money to continue to pay rent as well as all other business expenses (this includes purchasing PPE and other safety equipment & supplies) since the shelter-in-place mandate was issued by Governor Pritzker on March 21.
While there is still some money in our account, it is running out faster than we're able to generate revenue.
We have recently retained legal counsel to assist us in negotiating with the landlord for a rent reduction, and while we remain hopeful in being able to reach an agreement, we know there's the possibility that we may not.
At this time we're asking for your help once again. We desperately want to remain open so that we may continue to serve our existing clients as well as clients yet to come.

Massage, skincare and acupuncture are our passion. It is what keeps us going. As a result of what’s happening in our world today, we are unable to provide for our amazing clients. Helping people manage their pain and stress and feel great has been put on hold until further notice.
Human contact has been put on hold.
Our ability to generate revenue has also been put on hold. Our rent and other business expenses have not.
