On the weekend of July 10th and 11th 2021 Twisted Heart Puppetworks, with the help of Backfence Society,  will be hosting San Diego’s first ever online international shadow puppetry festival, lovingly titled Shadows Across The Globe. This festival is a grass roots endeavor by North County's own puppetry company, Twisted Heart Puppetworks and some trusted supporters, and we are hoping it will have a far reach!

Our goal is to bring domestic and international artists together in one online platform to celebrate the ancient art of shadow puppetry for all to see! The festival will be streaming showcases for free online both Saturday and Sunday during the day.

Within the festival there will be a family friendly live-streamed showcase called SHADOW PLAY for kids and parents a like. A separate virtual show called SHADOWS AFTER MIDNIGHT offers more adult content later in the day. 
Online classes for all skill levels and artists talks will be made available on ZOOM. 

Your donation helps us raise seed money so that we can reimburse our domestic and international artists for their submissions! It also helps us pay our teaching artists for their ZOOM classes and invaluable artist talks.
