Twins in NICU: Support Alyssa & Aivan

On January 25th, Alyssa and Aivan welcomed their precious twin boys into the world. While their arrival has brought incredible joy, it has also come with significant challenges. Alyssa experienced a high-risk and complicated pregnancy, including being airlifted just a week before delivery to stop preterm labor.

Both boys arrived early and are currently in the NICU. One twin, Elijah, is expected to stay in the NICU for 3-4 weeks, while the other, Niklaus, has been transferred to Primary Children’s Hospital with ongoing intestinal issues that may require surgery. We don’t have an ETA on when he’ll be released, but it will also be at minimum 3-4 weeks.

Alyssa and Aivan are now navigating the emotional and financial toll of medical expenses and traveling between two hospitals, both of which are 40 miles from their home. Between Alyssa’s medical care in 2024, starting a new deductible in 2025, and the costs associated with the boys’ care, they are facing over $11,000 in medical bills. On top of this, they are incurring ongoing expenses for fuel, food, and other necessities as they spend their days traveling to be with their sons.
