Twinlow's Pontoon Boat Makeover
Donation protected
Twinlow is a Camp and Retreat Center operated by the United Methodist Congregations of Idaho and Washington. Anyone who has been here in the summer knows that it is time for the Pontoon Boat to receive a much needed makever. The boat's furniture is over 20 years old and no longer safe to sit on and we need to replace the plywod deck and make a boat we can all be proud of.
The "24 Foot Sun Tracker" is not just a fun toy at camp, it is a powerful ministry tool we use to bring campers and guests a new creation experience. One of the purposes of the boat is to for Spokane Muscular Dystrophy Association to transport campers in wheelchairs on a cruise as a part of their summer camp week here at Twinlow.

We also use it to take Twinlow campers to parts of the lake to swim and jump off the rocks. Guests could choose to take a sunset cruise to enrich their retreat experience. The boat is also a great small group setting where bible studies can happen in new places.
We envision bringing the glory back to this vessel to bring Glory to God! We have a boat guy who is willing to do the work and order new parts, furniture, carpet, and chairs to make the boat safe and something to be proud of to park on our dock.
We need approx. $6,000 to order the restoration kit we need and we expect to have the barge back in the water by June in time for campers arriving.
This is what the current furniture looks like and the boat is in sad shape.

Step one would be to strip the boat down to the frame in order to rebuild it.
Step two would be to replace the plywood,,lay carpet and attach new furniture.
This photo shows what the Party Barge could look like after being restored with a furniture kit that can be purchased

Our goal is to raise the needed $6,000 during the month of May and get to work on the boat right away.
So will you join us and contribute towards this cause?
