August 18, 2025, is a date that marks the one-year anniversary of our father's passing. In memory of our dad, my twin and I are hoping to attend a concert in Los Angeles in August, along with a visit to the USS Midway, the aircraft carrier our dad served on in the 1950s.

Our dad was the one who first taught us to love music, a passion that has stayed with us. He went to dozens of live music events with us in his long life. Experiencing this concert together and visiting the Midway would be a beautiful way to honor his memory. Unfortunately, due to the cost of tickets and travel, it's a challenge for me to make this memorial a reality.

For the past two decades, chronic health issues (Crohn's disease, long COVID, and a concussion) have kept me from enjoying live music events, something our father always encouraged and enjoyed with us. Those same health issues were the reason I wasn't able to attend our father's funeral last year.

After our mother died in 2001, Dad told us that when he was gone, all we'd have was each other. (He lived another 23 years after that.) My twin has been my constant support through my health struggles, and sharing this particular live music experience with her, as a way to remember our dad, would be incredibly special.
