Poulsen Preemie Twins need Miracle for Christmas

Donation protected
Chris & Kelsey Poulsen’s twins were brought into this world via emergency C-Section 15 weeks early each weighing approximately 1 pound 6 ounces. They were suffering from stage-3 TTTS syndrome (twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome). During a follow-up appointment with their OB in Utah, they discovered one of boys was in heart failure and probably had less than 24 hours to live without a specific procedure. The best option was to IMMEDIATELY FLY to Oregon, where the nearest capable surgeon was available to perform a complicated surgery in attempt to save the boys. Unfortunately, the procedure failed which left them with 2 difficult options. Option #1: The heart-wrenching choice for a selective reduction, which could increase the other baby’s odds of survival. They had to act fast and didn’t have much time to decide, but at the last minute, they felt strongly that they could not go through with the termination of the sickest baby. They ultimately chose the 2nd option, an emergency C-section to deliver both babies, despite the difficult and uncertain road ahead, not to mention the daunting and certain financial burden associated with this decision. This proved to be the hardest decision of their life. The twin boys were born at 25 weeks, weighing 1 lb 6 oz and 1 lb 4 oz respectively. They're names are Graham and Wells Poulsen. The twins have 1 older brother, Dean. Since everything happened so fast, he is still stuck in Utah. The family is hoping they can figure a way for him to visit his parents and meet his new baby brothers soon. The babies will have to stay in the hospital in Oregon until they are strong enough to be discharged for travel. They anticipate 3-4 months in the NICU. The Poulsens are working with social workers to find housing for Kelsey so she can stay close to the twins. They will also be trying to figure out the complex health care and insurance issues associated with this impossible situation, especially since they are stuck out state. The immediate family is committed to help any way we can, but we know the inevitable financial ramifications will be overwhelming. We are organizing this Go Fund Me and asking for your help. All proceeds will go directly to Chris & Kelsey to help with travel costs, housing, loss of work, childcare, and primarily the staggering medical expenses associated with this unfortunate and unexpected circumstance. Please help us provide a Christmas miracle to the Poulsen Family and their tiny blessings from heaven. Many people are looking for someone to help during the Christmas season. This family is certainly a worthy candidate. Please share this and spread the word. Your prayers and financial support are greatly appreciated!!
