Treatment and Funding, Terminal Cancer!

Our dad, partner and grandad was diagnosed with metastatic stage IV liver cancer in December 2021. He has undergone three weeks of radiation and is now on his first of two (possibly 3) rounds of chemo. Unfortunately, the prognosis is not good for dad, and while he worked through radiation, he's not been able to work while undergoing chemotherapy. Cancer has already spread to his esophagus and stomach.

The radiation left dad unable to eat, and despite several medications to assist, he's still not been able to consume much food aside from tapioca pudding and ice cream. That combined with treatment has escalated his symptoms, including extreme nausea, tiredness, and moments of blackouts. As you can imagine, no food for nearly two months has left him weak and very sick, practically bedridden.

Metastatic cancer patients have a life expectancy of fewer than 12 months; none of us can ever be ready for this reality. As of late, dad has also said he doesn't want to continue chemo/radiation after his 2nd round as he's tired of being sick. Without treatment, his time left with us is undoubtedly untimely.

We have found a treatment that dad is open to; however, it is not covered and will be an out-of-pocket expense. The cost is USD 1,630 for a 90-day treatment. The results are staggering, and we want to give dad the best fighting chance; he's a fighter, but this battle will take an army behind him. This is why we're asking you all for help; in fact, we're begging! He'll never ask for help, so we'll do it for him! Dad has done so much for everyone else and never sought a thing in return; now, in this critical time, he needs us before it's too late!
