On May 3, 2015, Steven Lounsbery, known to his friends as Scuba Steve, was involved in a horrific ATV accident. While racing down a path he’d been down many times before, Steven hit an object that launched his ATV into a guard rail while throwing him 150 feet.
An angel was by his side as an off-duty police officer that was driving by witnessed the accident and immediately pulled over to help. Also driving by were four ICU nurses on their way to work. They, too, stopped and immediately provided assistance. Steven suffered major trauma—two severe breaks to his neck, several to his back and multiple fractures throughout his body—and his been in a medically-induced coma. On Wednesday, May 6, Steven underwent surgery to repair the damage to his neck.
Steven’s road to healing will be a long one and his medical bills will be substantial. The Lounsbery family has always been active in the Harrisonville/Peculiar community—providing helping hands and smiles to whomever needed it. This is an opportunity to help support the family and take one less worry off their minds with money to help pay medical bills and Steven’s bills while he is unable to work.
