We are about to lose the home that has been in our family for 28 years. I became severely ill 4 years ago, and my husband had to step away from work to become my full-time caregiver. Between my health battles, being in and out of the hospital, and caring for our 3 kids, funds have been very limited. Unfortunately, because of this, our property taxes have fallen far behind. We have tried everything that we can think of to take care of this issue ourselves, but haven't been able to find a workable solution so far. We talked to the tax office, and they said they cannot do payment arrangements and they do not have any programs for disabled people. We have tried to get loans, but we do not have good enough credit and/or do not bring in enough income to secure one. We are desperate to save our family home.
