Welcome to the Fantasy Workshop!

Hello everyone, I’m Ian!

I want to start by saying that there are so many important causes out there and it took me a while to feel comfortable creating this campaign. I’m someone who prefers to work hard and find my own way. But sometimes, you just need a little bit of help to get started, and I’m reaching out to ask for your support in making my dream a reality!

After years of working as a 3D artist in the video game industry on some really big games, I’ve decided to follow my true passion and start my own business.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about creating and being creative, and I’ve always wanted to turn that passion into a full-time business. Recently, I also started a YouTube channel to share my projects, inspire others, and document my journey in woodworking and other crafts. The goal is to make this a sustainable career, but as I take these first steps, I’m facing the challenge of covering some essential costs, mainly rent for a larger workshop.

If you’ve ever wanted to help me or see my work flourish, any small contribution would mean the world to me! I’m determined to make this dream come true, and your support will help me focus on building my business and creating content without the immediate stress of making ends meet.

If you can contribute, it would make a big difference! But even sharing this campaign with others would be a huge help.

A woodworking business and Youtube channel, what does it mean? There are two parts to this dream, let me explain!

Woodworking business

With this business, I want to focus on creating small, sustainable and hand-crafted furniture that draws inspiration from nature and fantasy. The business plan has been written, market research has been done and everything is ready to go, except the workshop (and some business applications).

Right now I’m working out of my 3m2 storage room. And although at times it can be fun to try and make this work, it is not sustainable. Therefore I looked around and found a couple of options to rent a larger space.

This is the short-term part of my dream, one that should financially support me.

YouTube channel

I recently started a YouTube channel where I share some of my projects, try to inspire others and document my journey. But what journey is it that I’m trying to document, you might ask? It’s the journey where I try to build towards a big dream, creating a fantasy inspired space where people can come together and enjoy the beautiful stories that we create or have created in the past. A space where people can step into another world.

This is a big dream, and it is far in the future, but having a YouTube channel allows me to share my learnings and have fun while doing it!

YouTube channel: The Fantasy Workshop

This is the long-term part of my dream, one that I’m slowly working towards.

What will happen with the money?

The donated money will be used to support paying the rent for a larger workshop. The way it is looking now, this is going to be SEK 4000 per month for the first six months.

This is what my current, very small, workshop looks like!

If, by any miracle, there are many people donating, the rest of the money will be used to invest in tools for the workshop and gear to be able to create better quality videos for the YouTube channel.

Thank you!

A huge thank you to everyone that is helping me chase my dreams! I will make sure to post updates and send everyone a personal thank you note! And of course, if you are ever interested in one of my products, you’re welcome to reach out to me!

I case you want to donate but you're not sure how much the Swedish Krona is worth right now? Here are some rough calculations!

€10 = SEK 116

$10 = SEK 108
