Renee Collins Memorial

To celebrate the life of our mother, Renee Collins, we’d like to throw a large party in her honor on April 22, 2023.

Our mom passed away very suddenly in September 2022, and we (her kids) would like to arrange a proper celebration to obtain a bit more closure for ourselves and anyone else who would like to join us. There was no official funeral or memorial at the request of our mother.

Renee was never a massive fan of the formal and detached nature of a solemn memorial service or funeral. She had said for years that she didn’t want a sad event in her honor when her time came. She wanted a party where all of her loved ones could come together and share stories, eat great food, dance, and remember her with tears of laughter and smiles on their faces. With that in mind, we want to throw a Beach Bash Crawfish Boil that lives up to her larger-than-life memory. The kind of party that she would have loved.

We’re asking for help to raise the funds necessary to rent a large beach house for this event, purchase food, and acquire any supplies that may be needed. The beach house will serve as our venue, as well as provide lodging to those of you who are traveling in from out of town. We can’t promise that we can house everyone. There will be restrictions on the number of people who can stay (most cap out at 10-15 overnight guests). But we’d like to try to help as many of you as we can.

We know that money is tight for a lot of people, but even a little will go a long way. Whatever you can spare would be extremely appreciated.

While we hope that all of you will be able to make it, we also understand that the financial constraint, travel arrangements, and time commitment can be difficult. If you can’t contribute or can’t attend, please know that's ok. We understand, and we know that Nay would too. We love all of you, and she loved all of you.
