My friend Paul Tackett is in the process of recovering from a serious car accident (hit from behind while traffic had come to a full stop on I-264). He suffered a spinal cord injury and must undergo months of PT/OT that hopefully will enable him to walk again. Meanwhile, he is out of work and bills from the ER, ICU, hospital stay, rehab, nursing home and the ambulance company are piling up. Paul's apartment -- he needs to move to a first-floor unit -- needs remodeling to accommodate a wheelchair and other fixtures to allow him to live independently once he returns home.
