Please Help Hugo

I adopted Hugo from an old colleague on 9 in May of last year, and we fell in love pretty quickly. The adoption felt serendipitous; after losing both my senior cats within a 6 week period, after having spent 17 years together, I was struggling as an empty nester… Our pets are our family.
Hugo soon came along and helped me through a terrible depression after that loss, and continues to be my constantly affectionate, energetic and goofy support boy.
After 8 months together, we’ve just learned that Hugo is sick. The good news is that there are life saving measures that are available to us — if we can pay.
This is heavy in a lot of ways. Emotionally and financially, it’s weighing on me.
Hugo and I are reaching out for help at this time: We humbly ask for any contribution to Hugo’s treatment. Financially would be so greatly appreciated (honestly, anything helps) but if not, a share would be so helpful as well. Sometimes it’s just a matter of reach.
With love and SO many thanks,
Hugo and Emily
COST BREAKDOWN:
The biggest cost is the surgery itself. The vet has given an estimate of $4,005.46, and that will include anesthetic and all other smaller costs with operation.
To get to this point of realizing surgery is the only option, we have spent $2000 on other visits and tests with inconclusive diagnostics.
The vet estimates post-op check up and care not to exceed $500
