Our friend and colleague Ashley Faith was recently diagnosed with stage II A breast cancer at just 38 years of age.
Ashley is a devoted mother of two beautiful children. Her youngest son, Atlas, is 3 years old and loves Spidey and friends, and Ashton is 6 years old and loves riding his scooter and playing Minecraft. They are the center of her world. She is currently a Nurse practitioner in cardiac surgery and transplant at Advent Orlando. Ashley has been working in healthcare for the last 16 years, including many years as an ICU nurse. She is someone who has spent her entire career caring for others during their most vulnerable moments and now she is facing one of the toughest battles of her life.
In the coming months Ashley will undergo bilateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery followed by chemotherapy and radiation therapy. While she is facing this challenge with remarkable strength and grace, cancer brings with it not only physical and emotional hardship but also a significant financial burden. Time away from work, medical expenses, childcare needs, and day to day living costs quickly add up-specially for a young family such as hers.
This GoFundMe has been created to help ease some of that burden, so Ashley can focus her energy where it matters most -- fighting and beating cancer and being present for her children. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly to supporting her and her family. If you are unable to donate simply sharing this page or keeping Ashley and her young family in your thoughts would mean just as much.
Ashley represents the best amongst us, a healthcare worker on the front lines, taking care of the critically ill and vulnerable patients every day, thereby, making the world a better place. She is a great co-worker, someone who is always there with a helping hand and big smile even in the face of such an immense challenge.
So, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. Now is our chance to take of her.
