Mounting medical bills

Dear plan C...

Today was a start of the new chemo. The previous stopped working, new developments have shown on the liver, after 7th cycles of 3 chemotherapy infusions each.

The finance person cornered me into her little office to see what can we do about these thousands and thousands I owe them at the Oncology. I can see she is uncomfortable nagging me, she understands how i physically feel, she sees me there every week, knows i can't work, but business is business. She helps with financial info, but i can barely walk sometimes, i have no energy and to deal with the paperwork that they require, besides, while they proclaim they just want a little bit of information so they can avoid fraud, they almost end up asking for information, one kidney, blood, and one of your children in exchange.

The Out of pocket is $7000, deductibles are $3500, the specialists are Oncology and Medical things ( supplemental oxygen $1800 to date).

I haven't worked since beginning of 2023, so no more plan B(plan B was savings from when i was working, that was used up last year in December 2024, when medical bills were over $12,000). Plan A was going back to work, and it's not likely I ever will.

Plan C it is...last resort, ask people I know for help. My least favorite plan. I've been thinking about this for days now. To tell our friends, yes, it's hard, the insurance is ruthless, insurance coins in their adjustments, and while I don't get any discounts, I just have to go with "Patient owes:" I guess that's why chemo is so expensive. Providers and hospitals know insurance will play their adjustments and discounts card for the billings, no discounts for us though. I'm just so tired. Tired of being sick and tired.

If you can help us, please do, we will appreciate it, these bills just sit on us so hard, so heavy, while we live on one income, now knowing there won't be two ever. I just noticed I made Sammy beneficiary, I have to fix what I've done, can't even remember what i clicked. Well, I speak several languages, but lately not well the apps on the tablet. i'll go another day and I'll fix it maybe but Sammy is the beneficiary, don't get confused Sammy and I are one, he pays the bills. I'm the sick one of course, he's the one that deals with bills. That's just not another thing I need on my mind.

I thank you so so so much for your help.
