Hi, my name is Charlee and I am fundraising for a close family friend, Amethyst (Amy) Balmer.
Amy suffered the destruction of her home on Wednesday January 5th, 2022. Due to the nature of the fire and the damage to the structure, they have been misplaced from their home. Amy is a single mother with a teenage daughter and two elementary-aged daughters and a middle school-aged son, as well as her Aunt living in her home. Along with the residents, she also houses two cats and four dogs. One of her dogs also, approximately 3-4 weeks prior, had a litter of 12 puppies, one of which was lost in the fire. Sadly, the house was lost at a time where she did not have renters insurance, so the family is at a total loss for most of their belongings and their place of residence.
My dear friend is currently staying in a hotel room, with her children staying with their aunt. they are in desperate need of any assistance that anyone can give. She is looking to rehome 10 more puppies, still, for a rehoming fee of $250 if anyone may be interested in this rather than donating (as the mother has halted feeding at just 3 weeks, and she has been trying to keep up with bottle/hand feeding all of them herself). My goal with this fundraiser is to raise $5,000 to allow Amy the funds to be able to put a deposit on a new rental and purchase renters insurance, so that her and her family are no longer without a home of their own. Any extra that may come from this will go to helping them rebuild what they have lost, such as clothing and other essentials, since they lost 95% of their belongings to the fire.
Anything that can be given will help immensely. Material donations, such as food and water for both the human and animal inhabitant that were effected are also of great importance and would be helpful as well. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
