On July 13, 2022, Melissa Dossey was diagnosed with breast cancer. The tumor is aggressive, and Melissa will be undergoing a double mastectomy on August 24 with chemo to follow. The initial diagnosis was stage 2, but some recent tests indicate potential spread, so she'll have a PET scan next week to give the surgeons more information.

Insurance only covers a portion of their medical costs and certainly won't cover the extent of treatment needed. As a teacher, Melissa will also likely exhaust her paid leave and will need to take time off unpaid. We are asking for donations on her behalf to help Melissa and Dale with medical expenses and loss of income during her recovery period.

If you know Melissa at all, you know that Melissa's passion is her family and her kids - first Henry, Lucy, and Dale and then all her beloved kindergarteners. Her first concerns were how Henry and Lucy would fare during this time, and how to provide consistency and love to her school babies while she is out.

Forever enough, more than enough, always enough. We trust her doctors but truly believe that God is enough for anything. Please pray for Melissa, Dale, their family, and their care team. ❤️
