House Fire

Hi everyone.  First of all I wanted to thank each and everyone of you beautiful people  who took the time to donate to the page, so far.  The response was amazing.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Really.  I reached my original goal in less than 24 hours.  That's great.  I am so grateful to have such an amazing, giving, heartful group of people in my life.  Most of you are family in every sense of the word.  Thank you.  

Now, some might say, "Hey Jorge, you reached the original goal.  Why do you still need us?"  Well, my imaginary person you, I failed to mentioned that I was blessed enough to have owned a multi-family home and in the 2nd floor there lived this amazing retired Puerto Rican woman by the name of Carmen who was the best tenant anyone could have ever had.  She babysitted her adorable grandkids and is mother to amazing women, in their own right.  Unfortunately, Carmen, like myself, lost everything in the house.  She was home, as was I, when the fire began.  She even had her grandson in the apartment with her when it occured.  The neighbor who alerted us to the fire (Godbless you Nick) grabbed the little boy, held him under his arm and ran across the street.  This woman, who was so kind to feed me during the holidays and always greeted me with a smile and brought with her this beautiful spirit lost everything she ever owned.  My hope and dream is to share this goal with her.  This fire was none of our fault but, as the super of this beautiful home, I feel responsible for her well being and if we can reach the goal of 20,000 I will make sure to help Carmen out as best as I can.
