SUPPORTING APRIL SHANNON
April Shannon is a 20year old Mansfield Woodhouse girl currently a student attending Sheffield University studying English. She is a grade A student who has worked very hard and has a very promising future. Her dream is to ultimately become an English lecturer at University.
However, April’s dreams have recently been shattered as just before Christmas she suffered a seizure and a massive brain haemorrhage. She was admitted to the Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield and through their expertise and excellent care combined with April’s positive attitude and strength made a remarkable recovery. This, unfortunately was short-lived as following a brain scan it was found that April did in fact have a brain tumour. Again she underwent surgery for its removal, but sadly only 60% of the tumour could be excised, so further treatments are currently ongoing.
April now faces an uncertain future. Our aim is to support her in her fight, ensuring she has everything she needs. This is where you can help us. We are planning to do a sponsored bike ride from Mansfield Market place to Skegness seafront. Your donation would help us support this brave young woman.
