Tutu Fundraiser

As many of you know Christi Varvel, teaches classical and modern ballet at Suzanne's School of Dance and serves as The Ballet Academy's Director. We are raising funds to provide Christi's dancers with 32 tutus. 16 "pancake" tutus, and 16 romantic tutus to be exact!
To make a quality tutu, each one takes 60 hours of hand sewing, 12 layers of netting, 14 yards of tulle. Buying a total of 16 pancake and romantic tutus at retail would cost thousands of dollars. Thankfully, Casey Sink, an experienced costume seamstress and Suzanne's School of Dance Mom has agreed to hand sew each tutu. Each "pancake" tutu costs $250 and each Romantic tutu costs $150. Add that up and we need $6,400 in funding.
We expect these high quality tutus to last Suzanne's School of Dance for years, and give these dancers the professional ballerina experience when they go on stage. Christi and Casey have taken extra care to ensure the design allows for different body types and adjustments. Whether it's Sleeping Beauty or the Black Swan, each tutu allows for the addition and removal of appliqué to fit the part.
