Help Bring Tushar Home to India and Support His Family

At just 24 years old, our dear friend, Tushar Kamboj S/O Rakesh Kumar, had his whole life ahead of him. On 30 October 2026, he tragically lost his life in a truck accident on the Hume Highway near Gunning, NSW.

We are struggling to find the words for this loss. It is heartbreaking to think that someone we knew and cared for will no longer walk through our door.

Tushar came to Australia from Haryana, India, in 2022. He was a kind, genuine and hardworking young man who carried responsibilities far beyond his age. As the eldest son and his family’s sole financial provider, he worked to support his parents and younger brother, who is still a student.

His family has lost a beloved son and brother, the person they depended on and looked to for support. Alongside their grief, they now face an uncertain financial future.

My name is Abhay. I was Tushar’s friend, housemate and emergency contact in Australia. We are organising this fundraiser to help bring him home to India, where his family can say their final goodbyes and perform his funeral rites, and to support the family he worked so hard to care for.

How your donations will help

Funds raised will help bring Tushar home to India, covering his preparation and care, necessary documentation, coffin, air transport, transport to his hometown and funeral expenses. The remaining funds will be provided to his parents and younger brother, who depended on his financial support. Our hope is to help his family say their final goodbyes and ease the financial burden they now face.

As the organiser, I will receive and manage the donations, keep records of payments and arrange for the remaining funds to reach his family.

We cannot take away their heartbreak, but together we can help bring their son home and ease some of the financial burden they now face.
