Let me tell you about my stepdad, Nick. He’s funny, honest, dependable, hard-working, and loving. If you needed help, he would be the first one knocking at your door. He’s busted his back his entire life, providing for the ones he loves. That’s what makes the next part of his story so difficult.
Nick was working up in New York and recently fractured his spine. During diagnostic testing, it was discovered that he has Stage IV B advanced metastatic prostate cancer. He will have to undergo chemo, radiation, and hormone therapy, among a myriad of other things. He must have these treatments to have any chance of seeing his grandsons grow up and to spend more time with his loved ones. Donations received will be used to pay for Nick's medical treatments.
Even though he has insurance, there are large deductibles, co-pays, and exorbitant drug costs. He has been permanently disabled just from the spinal injury. As the breadwinner of the family, this leaves him with no income until disability takes effect in 6-9 months. My mom is currently caring for Nick full-time, which leaves her unable to work as well.
The news has devastated us, and we would like to do whatever possible to make things easier on my mom and stepdad. If you’re able to help, we can’t tell you how appreciative we would be. If not, we would love your thoughts and prayers to help us navigate this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Dustin Seymour
