My brother Todd has been fighting Renal Cell Carcinoma for the last several months.  He had major surgery in April of this year to remove a kidney and some blood clots that had formed near his heart. He came through the surgery well and seemed to be on the road to recovery. It has now been 3 months and he will be needing to back in for further surgery. They didn't quite get it all the first time and he now has a 4 cm tumour growing at the site of the previous surgery. He was just about ready to go back to work and has been knocked down with the news of more surgery being needed.  As a result, he won't be going back to work for several months and is in need of a little help for both himself and his family.  

We are trying to raise $25000 for him so that he will be able to spend the next few months getting better following his next surgery, which is yet to be scheduled.  His medical EI runs out at the end of August which will put an additional burden on the family.  

A little about my brother.  He's been married to his wife Sharon  for over 19 years and is a father of two, Olivia and Logan.  They live in Red Deer, AB where they raise urban hens and enjoy the usual busy life of a family.  He used to work in the oil patch here in Alberta as an electronics technician. He was laid off during the recession and then decided to follow his passion into the kitchen, finding a new career as a chef and caterer in Red Deer, AB.  After working for various restaurants and food trucks, an opportunity came up in the brewing industry for a company called Troubled Monk. There, he has been working as the Chief Craft Soda Scientist using his kitchen skills to come up with new and exciting flavours of craft soda.

The world needs more of what Todd is bringing to it, so any help you're able to offer that will remove some of the stress would be very much appreciated.
