Turning Trading Cards into Treasure

Many years ago I invested in trading cards for my son Ian with the hope that one day he could sell them and pay to go to college. When Ian chose to enlist in the Air Force instead, I kept them tucked away for him for a rainy day. Well, over a year ago that rainy day came when Ian was diagnosed with ALS. As this condition progresses much faster in younger patients, we are now at the point where Ian requires a handicapped accessible vehicle to get around. Hoping we could cover the cost of the van by selling his collection, I dug out Ian’s trading cards and took them to a friend for appraisal, only to learn that they are worth nothing.

So in order to raise the funds needed to obtain a vehicle for Ian I am “hosting” a fun~raiser of sorts. For every donation we receive I will send you one of the trading cards from his collection. We will choose a card at random as we have a vast assortment ranging from baseball, football, soccer, Star Wars, Harley Davidson and the list goes on and on. While their resale value is nonexistent, the repurposing potential is exponential! Use it as a bookmark, practice your card throwing skills, attach it to the spokes of your bike, learn a magic trick, the list goes on.
