Turning Pain Into Power: Support Women Facing Cancer & Abuse
My Story
When I rang the bell at the end of cancer treatment, I should’ve been celebrating. Instead, my knee was wrapped from another night of torment. Called “disgusting,” I was struggling to embrace a body I barely recognized while carrying both the scars of cancer and the silent wounds of abuse.
For me, the battle didn’t end at the hospital doors. I’ve also endured stalking, harassment, and campaigns of hate designed to break me when I was already at my lowest. Too many women know this pain — battling for their lives while also facing violence, financial hardship, and fear.

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
1 in 3 women experience domestic violence.
Many face harassment and intimidation when they try to leave or rebuild.

Our Mission
This October, during Breast Cancer & Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I created the Island Magic “Turning Pain Into Power” Campaign.
We want to help and pamper more than 10 women by:
✨ Funding mammograms for women who cannot afford them.
✨ Covering bill payments for women in treatment or escaping violence.
✨ Providing self-care gifts to remind survivors they are loved, worthy, and never alone.
