Help Us Build a Desert Garden & Community Oasis!

Hi friends, neighbors, and fellow earth-lovers,

I'm starting this GoFundMe because I have a big dream — and it needs a little help to come to life!

Out here in the desert, I'm working to create a sustainable desert garden, a community greenhouse, and even a small food forest to combat climate change, support local food resilience, and green our beautiful but dry landscape.

A Little About Me:

I’ve earned my Permaculture Design Certificate and have carefully designed a full sustainability plan for this property. Every element — from the trees to the water systems — is planned to work in harmony with the land.

Right now, I’m doing all the work by hand — digging, planting, shaping the earth one shovel at a time. It's a labor of love, but progress is slow.

To speed things up and bring the project to life faster, I'm hoping to fund tractor work to help with major earthworks like swales, half-moon basins, and planting terraces for passive water harvesting based on natural rainfall patterns.

Here’s what else your support will make possible:

Moving and converting an old school bus into a greenhouse! This unique greenhouse will jumpstart seedling production, protect tender plants, and extend the growing season.

Planting a full acre with trees and perennial food crops, creating shade, food, habitat, and beauty.

Building stronger windbreaks using straw bales, natural fencing, and tough pioneer plants to protect young trees from the fierce desert winds.

Mulching heavily with straw and other organic material to retain precious moisture during the brutal summer heat.

Urgent summer survival measures — extra shade structures, emergency watering setups, and cooling strategies to help the plants and trees (and myself!) survive this critical upcoming season.
