Turning Clay into Calm: Need Your Help
Donation protected
A little over a year ago, I started taking pottery classes and was totally in love with it from day one. It is challenging, and you screw up a lot more than you're successful, but despite that, it brought a sense of satisfaction and calm to my life.
I tried to consistently be in classes every month, but it's a high-cost hobby, and the studios in Chicago are all very popular and therefore booked up very quickly. In November, I started a new job, which I love, but it came at the cost of my pottery because there were no longer any classes at my level available outside of my work hours. So, I decided that I wanted to own a pottery wheel. Owning my own would allow me to use it almost daily, which would increase my skill more quickly, benefit my mental health, and enable me to produce more beautiful things that I can put out into the world.
My goal is to be able to supplement my income by selling my work, which if you have visited my Instagram, you may have seen a little bit of. I have heard from so many friends and family and extensions of those people how excited they are to see more of my work and how cool it is that I do this, so if you'd like to help me continue, please consider donating to help offset the costs. And anyone that donates $50 or more will receive a piece of pottery from me as a thank you for supporting me and my art! The goal is to purchase my wheel by my 28th birthday, which is in June!
