Turning 70 years old and find I need hearing aids
Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
Today was a humbling day. I have been having terrible ringing in my ears for some time now (Tinnitus) which brought me to my first ever hearing check this morning. Turns out there are ranges that I'm unable to hear, while others are doing ok. This is why I can't just go to Costco and get something there. The doctor recommends hearing aids that are attuned to the specific rages that I've lost. This may also help with the Tinnitus, but not certain. I have good health insurance but there isn't any coverage for hearing aids. So as reluctant as I am with reaching out for help to pay for them, and the 3-year care and feeding required (rechargeable batteries), I have no other options to pay for them being of limited means. As a singer, musician, and teacher, hearing is especially vital to my sacred endeavors.
I'm turning 70 years on on February 4th, and for my birthday, I'm asking for donations of any amount toward the total cost of $5,700. With the hearing aids I'm hoping for continued health and well being into the foreseeable future. Since prices are going up on February 22nd, I am hoping to be able to get in before the price hike deadline, and get set up with the hearing aids as soon as possible.
My deep appreciation to all who are able and willing to support this effort.
with blessings,
Ruth
