We’re Kunjan and Akhil, the founders of Dark Sky Initiative. Passionate about the night sky and the environment, we started this nonprofit to combat light pollution and protect the beauty of the stars. Through education, advocacy, and community events, we’re working to reconnect people with the wonders of the night sky and create a healthier, more sustainable world. The Problem: Light Pollution is Stealing the Stars

Millions of people around the world can no longer see the stars. Light pollution—the excessive and misdirected artificial light flooding our cities—is not just dimming the night sky; it’s harming wildlife, disrupting ecosystems, and affecting human health.

The night sky is a shared heritage, but if we don’t act now, future generations may never experience its magic.
